Goa Minister Lashes Out at Doctor, Orders Suspension Amid Heated Exchange
Panaji – Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has come under fire after a video surfaced showing him verbally abusing and threatening a senior doctor at the Goa Medical College (GMC) casualty department.
The incident occurred after a complaint alleged the doctor misdirected a 77-year-old patient to an urban health centre for a knee injection.
In the viral clip, Rane is seen angrily telling the chief medical officer (CMO) to “shut up” and “get out,” asserting that the doctor was not authorized to speak in his presence. As the doctor attempted to explain, Rane continued to berate him, saying, “Go home before my blood pressure boils.”
Netizens condemned Rane’s behaviour, calling it bullying and accusing him of double standards. Critics linked his outburst to alleged frustrations over unrelated land issues, questioning his moral authority.
Rane has ordered the doctor’s immediate suspension and replacement.
