Mumbai, June 8: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for heavy rainfall across Maharashtra on Sunday, June 8. According to the IMD, rain activity is likely to remain widespread throughout the state, with alerts issued for several regions including Marathwada and Vidarbha.

The IMD has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in most districts, especially in Mumbai, Konkan, and the hilly areas of Western Maharashtra. Parts of Marathwada and Vidarbha are also expected to receive significant rainfall.

Mumbai and Thane are likely to experience cloudy skies with chances of moderate rain. A yellow alert has been issued for Raigad and Ratnagiri districts in the Konkan region, warning of heavy rainfall on June 8.

In Western Maharashtra, districts like Pune, Satara, and Solapur may witness heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 kmph. Residents have been advised to remain cautious.

In the Marathwada region, except for Dharashiv and Latur, all other districts have been placed under a yellow alert for June 8. Rainfall is expected to remain active across the region.

Similarly, in Vidarbha, heavy rain is forecasted for most districts. The IMD has issued yellow alerts for Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Washim, Yavatmal, and Gadchiroli.

Citizens across the state are advised to stay updated with local weather reports and take necessary precautions in view of the predicted rainfall.
