Jaanwaro Ka Khana: SpiceJet Passengers At Pune Airport Force Staff To Eat In-Flight Meal
A video showing a group of frustrated SpiceJet passengers confronting an airline staff member over food quality has gone viral, sparking widespread debate online. The incident reportedly took place at Pune Airport, where passengers of flight SG-8124, bound for Delhi, were left waiting for over seven hours due to delays.
In the now-viral clip, passengers can be seen surrounding a SpiceJet employee and insisting he consume the same meal served to them. The staff member complies, visibly eating the food in front of the angry crowd. Passengers were heard calling the meal “janwaro ka khaana” (animal food), venting their frustration over the quality and delay.
Though the video is over two weeks old, it recently gained traction on social media after being posted on X (formerly Twitter) by an account named Woke Eminent.
In response, SpiceJet issued a statement strongly denying the claims. The airline clarified that the food was fresh, sourced from a certified vendor that also supplies other carriers at the airport. SpiceJet defended its employee, stating that he acted with dignity despite facing verbal abuse and mob pressure.
The video has garnered over 500,000 views, drawing mixed reactions online. Many praised the staff member’s composure, while others condemned the aggressive behavior of the passengers.
