Pune: Frustrated residents from Keshav Nagar and Mundhwa have raised serious concerns over the growing traffic chaos in the area, blaming poor management and inaction by authorities for daily congestion and accidents.

A commuter near the Maruti Suzuki showroom, heading towards the Mundhwa Railway Bridge, urged authorities to act against reckless driving. “I understand it’s tough to manage, but please take action against wrong-side drivers who are creating a mess. I’ve raised this issue multiple times, but there’s been no change,” the resident said.

Another resident from Keshav Nagar made a desperate plea to the administration, pointing out multiple bottlenecks across the city. “Please urgently look into the traffic situation across Pune, especially at Mundhwa Chowk, Koregaon Park Signal, and the Passport Office junction. Two bridges merge into a single narrow road, causing traffic jams that last 2–3 hours daily. This not only wastes time, fuel, and resources but is affecting work productivity,” the resident noted, warning that, “if urgent steps like constructing a flyover or underpass at Mundhwa Circle are not taken, several MNCs in Magarpatta and Kharadi may consider relocating.”

Citizens also complained about the lack of traffic enforcement. “People break signals every day, yet no strict action is taken. Accidents are becoming common. Authorities must implement stringent rules and act against signal breaches, encroachments, and illegal hoardings,” said another local.

One frustrated homebuyer even expressed regret over his decision to move to the area. “There is absolutely no response from any government agency. No traffic police are present on this road, and when they are at the chowks, they do nothing. They don’t fine violators or stop them. I’m fed up after buying a flat in Keshav Nagar,” he said.

Residents continue to demand immediate intervention, warning that unchecked traffic mismanagement could have far-reaching consequences for the area’s livability and business ecosystem.

“The Mundhwa signal is blocked from all four sides, and traffic from Keshav Nagar is backed up for nearly three kilometres. There’s been no progress on the Kharadi bridge, the Amanora underpass remains in the same state, and there’s no allocation for a flyover at Mundhwa. It’s become one of the worst areas to live in Pune. I’ve never witnessed such neglect from authorities in any other major city,” said a frustrated resident.
