Actor Priyanka Chopra has spoken out against a viral quote being wrongly linked to her. The quote, which circulated widely online, claimed Priyanka advised men not to look for a virgin while choosing a wife. On Thursday, June 26, the actor addressed the misinformation through her Instagram Stories, calling the viral post completely fake.
The viral quote falsely attributed to Priyanka read, “Don’t look for a virgin as wife. Get a woman with good manners. Virginity ends in one night but manners last forever.”
Reacting to this, Priyanka wrote on Instagram, “This is not me, my quote or my voice. Just because it’s online, doesn’t make it true. Creating fake content is now an easy way to achieve virality.”
She further explained that none of the sources or links attached to the claim were credible. “None of the links or ‘sources’ attached to this claim, or many others online, are real or credible. Take a minute to cross-check such content and don’t believe everything you scroll past. Stay safe online,” she added.
The actor urged her followers to be cautious and not fall for everything they see online. She reminded them to verify content before sharing or believing it.
The Post Went Viral Without Credible Sources
The viral post had started making rounds on social media earlier this week, gaining traction quickly. Many users believed the quote to be authentic, sharing it across platforms without checking its source. However, no verified interview or video of Priyanka saying those words exists. Her public clarification aimed to put an end to the growing misinformation.
The incident also highlighted how easily fake quotes and manipulated content can spread on the internet, especially when associated with celebrities.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra is currently busy with multiple projects, both in India and internationally. Her next film, Heads of State, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video. The action-comedy also stars Idris Elba and John Cena and is directed by Ilya Naishuller.
