Pune: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers staged a protest outside the residence of Kedar Soman in Pune’s Kothrud area on Wednesday after he allegedly posted objectionable remarks on social media against MNS chief Raj Thackeray. The protest, led by MNS spokesperson Hemant Sambhus, created chaos outside Soman’s house.

Police intervened in time to prevent the situation from escalating. Soman, who had reportedly shared posts criticizing both Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray, refused to open the door when MNS workers arrived at his residence.

The workers hurled abuses and shouted slogans outside the house, prompting residents to alert authorities. Police rushed to the spot, removed MNS workers from the premises, and later detained Kedar Soman for questioning.

As Soman was being escorted in a police vehicle, agitated MNS workers tried to block the vehicle and created a commotion on the street.

Soman’s controversial Facebook post, in which he mocked Raj Thackeray for allegedly calling Uddhav Thackeray late at night after drinking, had gone viral on social media earlier, triggering the outrage.

Police have assured that the situation is under control, and an investigation into the matter is underway.
