As Salman Khan prepares to return as the host of Bigg Boss 19, the excitement for the reality show is slowly building. Though the season has had a quieter pre-launch compared to previous years, several details have surfaced online, including the show’s expected launch timeline, its new format, and a tentative list of contestants.
The promotional shoot for Bigg Boss 19 is reportedly wrapping up, and while the earlier rumoured launch date of August 2 has been dropped, the show is still expected to premiere in August 2025. This year, the show will start directly with the television version and then move into an OTT format after three and a half to four months. The season is being produced by Banijay Asia and will air across Viacom18’s channels and platforms.
Theme and Format for Bigg Boss 19
The new season will carry the theme “Rewind” and is said to bring back several features from past editions. One of the most talked-about twists is the return of the Secret Room, where two nominated contestants will be kept in isolation and allowed to watch the game from a distance. This year, the audience will vote instead of contestants nominating each other. The contestants will also have to earn their weekly ration through tasks. If a task is cancelled, they may have to survive without food for the week.
Tentative Contestants for the Season
A leaked list of participants is doing the rounds on social media. Ram Kapoor and Gautami Kapoor are reportedly joining the show together. Mamta Kulkarni, the 90s star who recently returned to the headlines, is also said to be part of the show. Fitness influencer Krishna Shroff, who was recently seen on Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, might enter the Bigg Boss house this season.
Raj Kundra, who was last seen on ‘The Traitors’, is another name on the list. Former actress Tanushree Dutta is also being linked to the show after a long break from the spotlight. Content creator Apoorva Mukhija, known as the “Rebel Kid”, and actor Sharad Malhotra are also among the possible contestants.
Other rumoured names include Munmun Dutta from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, YouTuber Gaurav Taneja aka Flying Beast, actresses Kanika Mann and Alisha Panwar, and Anita Hassanandani, though her name seems uncertain due to other show commitments.
While these names remain unconfirmed, they’ve already added to the buzz around Bigg Boss 19, which is expected to bring a mix of drama, nostalgia, and new game-changing twists.
