India’s First Disneyland-Style Park Announced. More Details Here.
Manesar, July 6, 2025: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday announced plans for India’s first Disneyland-style amusement and entertainment park in Manesar. The 500-acre mega project will be strategically located along the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway and the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor, ensuring easy connectivity from Delhi and other parts of the National Capital Region (NCR).
“This entertainment hub will be a game-changer for Haryana’s tourism and economy. It will bring cultural, social, and economic benefits not only to the state but also to the entire country,” said Saini after consultations with Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
The project, officials said, is part of Haryana’s broader vision to transform itself into a global tourism hotspot, on par with cities like Paris, Tokyo, and California that host Disney-themed parks.

Economic Boost and Tourism Vision
Tourism department officials highlighted that the park is expected to draw massive private investments, create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, and boost infrastructure in Manesar and surrounding areas. The announcement also aims to fill the entertainment void left after Gurugram’s Kingdom of Dreams shut down in 2022.
“Disneyland’s global brand value, combined with Haryana’s expanding infrastructure projects like the Global City, will elevate NCR as a destination for tourists and investors alike,” a senior tourism official noted.
Disney’s Official Nod?
Asked if Walt Disney Company has cleared the project, a senior government official stated that necessary communications with relevant parties have been completed, but Disney has not yet issued an official statement.
Haryana’s cultural calendar is also being expanded as part of this tourism push. The Surajkund Crafts Mela, traditionally held once a year, will now be hosted three times annually, with additions like a Diwali Fair and a Book Fair. CM Saini also urged the Centre to fund scaling up the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra.
Past Controversy Resurfaces
The announcement has sparked political debate, recalling the scrapped 1989 plan for a similar park under the Om Prakash Chautala-led INLD government, which faced massive farmer protests over land acquisition.
Responding to criticism, BJP leaders said the current project is limited to 500 acres and will respect farmers’ rights while promoting development.
Groundwork for the Disneyland project is expected to begin in the coming months as discussions with global partners progress.
