Incident in Andheri turns political as influencer accuses MNS of online targeting following altercation
A shocking altercation unfolded in Mumbai’s Andheri area when Rahil Javed Shaikh, son of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Javed Shaikh, was caught on camera abusing and threatening influencer Rajshree More in a drunken rage. The video, shared by Rajshree on Instagram, shows Rahil shirtless and visibly intoxicated, hurling expletives in Marathi after allegedly crashing into her vehicle.
In the footage, Rahil can be heard shouting, “B**chod paishe ghe” and boasting of his political protection, saying, “Go and tell the cops I’m Javed Shaikh’s son then see what happens.” He also appears to argue with police officers at the scene, reportedly trying to intimidate Rajshree into silence.
Rajshree has posted an image of the FIR filed against Rahil, claiming this was not just an incident of drunk driving, but also a case of political retaliation. She alleges that MNS workers have since been targeting her online, referencing a previously deleted video in which she criticised the forced imposition of Marathi language in the city.
In the now-deleted clip, Rajshree had remarked that Mumbai’s local Marathi community should focus on improving work ethic rather than relying on linguistic pride. She also stated that migrant workers were essential to the city’s functioning, warning of collapse if they ever left. These comments sparked backlash from MNS supporters, especially from the Versova unit, who lodged a formal complaint at Oshiwara Police Station.
Facing growing outrage, Rajshree later apologised publicly and removed the video from all social platforms. However, she believes that the attack by Rahil was politically charged, driven by this earlier controversy.
Police have begun their investigation into the matter.
