Pune, 28th June: A tragic road accident took place at Pabe Ghat in Pune district on Sunday after a tourist bus carrying visitors from Mumbai plunged into a deep gorge. Two tourists died on the spot, while several others sustained serious injuries. Preliminary reports suggest that the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the fatal crash.

According to officials, a group of 20 tourists from Andheri, Mumbai, had travelled to Pune to visit the historic Rajgad Fort. The group was travelling in a private bus when the accident occurred on the winding roads of Pabe Ghat, which connects Velhe and Haveli talukas.

The bus reportedly veered off the road after the driver lost control and fell into a deep valley, leaving the vehicle severely damaged.

There were 20 passengers on board at the time of the accident. Two tourists lost their lives in the crash, while several others were injured. Soon after receiving information about the incident, the Haveli Disaster Management Rescue Team rushed to the spot and launched an intensive rescue operation.

With the assistance of local residents and the administration, rescue personnel managed to safely evacuate the passengers trapped inside the gorge. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment, where they are currently undergoing medical care.

Police have registered the case and are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
