Passenger Delight! Vande Bharat Train Gets 16 Coaches – Here’s the Route and What’s New
Nagpur–Pune Vande Bharat Express May Get More Trips After Strong Passenger Response
Commuters travelling between Hyderabad and Bengaluru can look forward to a major upgrade in comfort and capacity. Starting July 10, Indian Railways will increase the number of coaches on the popular Kacheguda–Yesvantpur–Kacheguda Vande Bharat Express from 8 to 16, nearly doubling its seating capacity.
The Vande Bharat Express on this route, known for its blend of speed and modern amenities, has witnessed consistently high demand since its launch. According to South Central Railway (SCR) officials, the train has been operating at 100% occupancy, prompting the move to expand capacity and cater to more passengers.
At present, the train has one Executive Class coach and seven Chair Cars, offering 530 seats. After the upgrade, it will run with 2 Executive Class coaches and 14 Chair Cars, increasing the total number of seats to 1,128. This change is aimed at easing booking pressures and providing a smoother travel experience on this busy corridor that connects two major IT hubs.
Train numbers 20703/20704, covering the Kacheguda–Yesvantpur–Kacheguda route, have emerged as one of the most sought-after Vande Bharat services in the country. Officials say the additional coaches will help keep pace with growing demand from daily commuters, business travelers, and tourists alike.
Highlighting the importance of the move, Sandeep Mathur, General Manager of South Central Railway, said: “By doubling the number of coaches, many more passengers can experience the world-class Vande Bharat journey between Hyderabad and Bengaluru. It’s a significant step towards strengthening rail connectivity between these two tech-driven cities.”
With this expansion, passengers can expect reduced waitlists, greater availability of seats, and the same promise of speed, comfort, and efficiency that Vande Bharat trains are celebrated for.
