Pune: PMC Launches ‘War Room’ To Fast-Track 30+ Key Infrastructure Projects

Pune: PMC Invites Residents To Participate In Citizens Participatory Budget 2026-27
Pune, July 11, 2025: In a bid to speed up the city’s infrastructure development, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has set up a dedicated ‘War Room’ to closely monitor and drive the progress of over 30 critical civic projects.
The initiative, led by Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram, is aimed at ensuring timely execution and improved quality standards for projects that are vital to Pune’s urban transformation.
Among the key projects under this intensive review are the JICA-funded water supply scheme, riverfront development, the equitable water distribution initiative, and major road-widening works such as Katraj-Kondhwa and Shivne-Kharadi corridors. Several flyovers and junction improvements across the city are also being tracked under this mission.
Many of these projects are backed by financial assistance from the Central and State governments through schemes like Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS).
The PMC’s ‘War Room’ will serve as a command center to identify bottlenecks, resolve delays, and coordinate between various departments and contractors to ensure faster delivery.
“The goal is to improve efficiency and ensure citizens benefit from high-quality infrastructure within committed timelines,” said a senior civic official.
This move comes amid rising demands from Pune residents for better roads, water supply, and public amenities to match the city’s rapid growth.
