Pune, June 29, 2026: The Pune District Administration has issued traffic diversion orders in view of the annual Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi procession, which will commence from Shri Kshetra Alandi on July 8, 2026. District Collector and District Magistrate Jitendra Dudi has directed that vehicular traffic on the Palkhi route be diverted through alternative roads during the procession to ensure smooth movement and public safety.

Traffic restrictions in the rural limits will remain in force from July 11 to July 15. During the Pune to Saswad leg of the procession, from 2 am on July 11 until midnight on July 13, all traffic from Pune towards Saswad via Dive Ghat and Bopdev Ghat will remain completely closed. Vehicles will instead be diverted via Khadi Machine Chowk–Katraj–Kapurhol. Traffic travelling from Saswad towards Pune will be rerouted through Garade–Khed Shivapur.

For the Saswad–Jejuri and Jejuri–Walhe stretches, from 2 am on July 13 until midnight on July 14, motorists travelling between Pune and Nira via Saswad, Jejuri and Walhe have been advised to use the Zendewadi–Pargaon Memane–Supe–Morgaon–Nira route.

During the Walhe to Lonand phase on July 15, from 2 am to 5 pm, traffic travelling between Pune and Nira via Saswad and Jejuri will be diverted through the Saswad–Jejuri–Morgaon route. Further, from July 15 to July 18, vehicles travelling between Pune and Phaltan or Lonand will be routed via Shirwal in both directions.

The district administration has appealed to commuters to cooperate with the authorities, follow the notified diversions, and use the designated alternative routes to avoid inconvenience during the Palkhi procession.
