SpiceJet Pune-Delhi Flight Faces 9-Hour Delay After Aborted Take-Off Due to Technical Snag
Pune, July 15, 2025: Passengers aboard SpiceJet flight SG-914 from Pune to Delhi faced major inconvenience on Sunday after the aircraft aborted take-off at Lohegaon airport due to a technical fault. Originally scheduled to depart at 12 noon on July 13, the flight finally took off at 9:05 pm, resulting in a delay of over nine hours.
According to passengers, the plane had begun taxiing toward the runway when it suddenly halted, leaving many confused and anxious. Flyers were reportedly kept inside the aircraft for nearly an hour before being deplaned. They were asked to reboard later that evening once the issue was rectified.
Several passengers took to social media to voice their frustration. Disha Shroff, travelling with her two-year-old child, posted on X (formerly Twitter), “We’ve been stuck inside the aircraft for over an hour. This delay is unbearable, especially with a toddler.”
Another passenger, Gautam Kumar, alleged that the airline provided “substandard food” as compensation and offered no clear information about the situation.
In response, a SpiceJet spokesperson refuted claims of passengers being confined for two hours, stating, “The delay was caused by a technical snag requiring the aircraft to return to the bay. Passengers were deplaned after about an hour, and refreshments were provided. The flight departed safely at 9:05 pm.”
