Pune News: PCMC Cracks Down on Unauthorized Constructions in Thergaon and Rahatani
Pimpri, July 15, 2025: Acting on the orders of Commissioner Shekhar Singh and under the guidance of Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) carried out a major demolition drive in Thergaon and Rahatani. Eight unauthorized structures, including illegally constructed floors and tin sheds covering an area of 13,315 sq ft, were demolished.
The action in Thergaon was led by Zone G Regional Officer Kishor Nanavare along with civic officials and staff. A heavy police presence was deployed to maintain law and order during the drive.
Excavators and JCB machines were used in the demolition, and fire trucks and ambulances were stationed on the site as a precaution. Officials from the police department and electricity distribution company also supported the operation.
The demolished structures included unauthorized floors and sheds in Gujar Nagar, Laxman Nagar (Thergaon), and the Rahatani Gaothan area.
