Pune: Residents’ Efforts Prompt PMC To Start Water Pipeline Project In NIBM Annex
Pune, July 21, 2025: In a major development for residents of NIBM Annex and Mohamadwadi, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has commenced work on laying new water pipelines in the area. This long-awaited project is aimed at ensuring a reliable water supply for the growing residential community.
The initiative saw active coordination from community representative Nitin D’Souza of Archana Paradise, who kept residents informed about the progress. On July 14, D’Souza announced the delivery of water pipes and the beginning of the laying process opposite Archana Paradise Phase 1 and Phase 3.
Sharing an update on July 17, D’Souza called the commencement of work a “significant milestone” for the locality. “It was heartening to see enthusiastic participation from residents of various societies, which reflects the unity and support of our community,” he said.
Zuber Khan, Secretary, Pristine Viva told Pune Pulse that the citizens have been struggling for basic necessity like water. After struggling for almost more than 5 years, we have finally got a pipeline through united efforts led by Nitin Dsouza. The work for laying pipes is underway and we are hoping that we get water by month end.
Residents from across NIBM Annex and Mohamadwadi have welcomed PMC’s efforts to address water supply concerns and expressed gratitude for the corporation’s prompt action. Many hailed the collaboration between civic officials and local residents as a positive step towards resolving infrastructure issues in the rapidly developing area.
This line will give water to Archana Paradise 1,2 and 3, Pristine Viva, Kingston Atlantis societies in the NIBM Annexe area.
The ongoing work is part of PMC’s larger plan to improve water infrastructure in Pune’s suburbs, where rising population density has placed increasing demands on existing resources.
Local residents are hopeful that the project will be completed on schedule and bring much-needed relief to households in the coming weeks.
