Pune, July 24, 2025: In an innovative move to boost traffic awareness and promote public participation in road safety, the Pune Traffic Police has launched a weekly social media initiative called #ThursdayTrafficQuiz. The campaign is designed to educate citizens through a series of simple traffic-related questions posted every Thursday on official Instagram handle.
Each week, a new question will be shared, and the correct answer will be revealed the following Thursday before introducing the next question. This format not only encourages learning but also maintains continuous engagement with the public.
What makes this initiative more impactful is its focus on citizen involvement in traffic planning. Additional Commissioner of Police (IPS) Manoj Patil shared that individuals who consistently participate and give correct answers in the quiz will be invited to the Pune Traffic Police office. There, their suggestions and feedback will be taken into consideration to help shape future traffic mitigation strategies in the city.
“This is not just a quiz—it’s a two-way communication channel. We want to hear from informed citizens. Their input could help us solve on-ground traffic issues more effectively,” said Patil.
The Pune Traffic Police believes that involving residents in such meaningful ways will foster a sense of collective responsibility and lead to smarter, more inclusive traffic solutions. The initiative is open to all Punekars and aims to create a more aware, cooperative, and safety-conscious road culture.
Citizens are encouraged to tune in every Thursday, participate in the quiz, and contribute to making Pune’s roads safer for all.
