Pune: Kargil Vijay Diwas To Be Observed At Sainik Welfare Office; War Heroes And Families To Be Honoured
Pune, July 24, 2025: On the occasion of the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas, a special programme will be held to honour the war widows, mothers, fathers of martyred soldiers, as well as disabled Kargil war veterans and gallantry award recipients who fought to defend the nation.
The event will be organised by the Sainik Welfare Department, Pune, on Saturday, July 26 at 10 AM.
During the ceremony, a new initiative titled ‘NALSA Veer Parivar Sahayata Yojana 2025’ will be launched jointly by the Sainik Welfare Department, Pune, and the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority, Mumbai. Under this scheme, a Legal Aid Centre will be inaugurated to provide free and effective legal support to ex-servicemen and their families.
Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Hange Satesh Dewanrao, District Sainik Welfare Officer, Pune, has appealed to war widows, parents of martyrs, ex-servicemen and their dependents in the district to attend the programme in large numbers.
