Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Conducts Hinjawadi IT Park Traffic Survey; Reviews Congestion Hotspots With Citizen PetitionersÂ
Pune | July 25, 2025: In a major push to address traffic woes in Hinjawadi IT Park, Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Police Vinay Kumar Choubey conducted a second on-ground congestion survey of the area on Thursday. The survey was conducted in collaboration with the #UnclogHinjawadiITPark e-petition team and key citizen volunteer representjng the IT Professionals community Sachin Londhe, alongside Additional Commissioner of Police Awad and his traffic team.
The joint team visited several high-density traffic junctions and chokepoints within and around Hinjawadi IT Park, reviewing the status of previously implemented measures and identifying further areas for intervention. The survey covered key locations including Jambhulkar Chowk (near Indian Oil Petrol Pump), the Shell Petrol Pump intersection near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, Maan Devi Temple Road (Phase 3), SEZ Bhavan Circle (Phase 3), Wipro Phase 2 Circle, and the Mindtree Consulting intersection, among others.
Particular attention was given to traffic flow challenges, wrong-side driving, U-turn management, bottleneck zones, and flood-prone areas such as the site where a PMPML bus was submerged during heavy rains on June 7. Work status of the proposed Hinjawadi Police Chowki was also reviewed.
The team also submitted a detailed 37-page suggestion document and a copy of the e-petition, which had collected public support signatures. A request was made by an IT employee for deployment of women police personnel near company gates to ensure the safety of female employees.
The campaign has been actively supported by MLA Shankar Jagtap, who was lauded for keeping his promise made in the 2024 manifesto to address longstanding traffic issues in Hinjawadi.
The initiative, first launched with the e-petition on June 22 and followed by a meeting with the Chief Minister on July 10, continues to witness progress on multiple fronts.
The #UnclogHinjawadiITPark team expressed gratitude to CP Vinay Choubey and the Pimpri Chinchwad traffic department for their proactive response and willingness to experiment with new traffic solutions.
