RCB’s Yash Dayal Booked Again: Jaipur FIR Accuses Cricketer of Repeatedly Raping Minor
Indian fast bowler Yash Dayal, a member of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), is now facing a second grave accusation of sexual assault—this time involving a minor. A fresh FIR has been filed against the 27-year-old in Jaipur, where he has been accused of repeatedly raping a 17-year-old girl under the pretense of helping her build a career in cricket.
The complaint, registered at Sanganer Sadar police station, outlines multiple incidents of sexual assault starting in 2023 and continuing into 2024. According to Sanganer Sadar Station House Officer (SHO) Anil Kumar Jaiman, the survivor claims that Dayal first assaulted her two years ago when she was still a minor. He had reportedly promised her assistance in her cricket journey and gained her trust, only to later exploit her sexually.
The allegations do not stop there. The FIR also states that during the IPL 2024 season, while Dayal was in Jaipur as part of RCB’s title-winning squad, he contacted the girl again. She alleges that he called her to a hotel in the Sitapura area and raped her once more in April of this year. These serious accusations have led to charges under Section 64 of the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which mandates a minimum prison sentence of 10 years for such offenses, alongside provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
A senior police officer involved in the case confirmed that the FIR was promptly filed once the survivor came forward and shared her experience. Authorities are now in the process of recording a detailed statement from the survivor and moving forward with the investigation.
This comes shortly after Dayal was named in another sexual assault case registered in Uttar Pradesh. In that instance, a woman filed a complaint at Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram police station on July 6, accusing him of exploiting her emotionally and physically over several years. She claims that Dayal led her on with a promise of marriage, which he never intended to fulfill.
That case was filed under Section 69 of the BNS, which deals with sexual relations obtained through deceit or false promises. The complainant says she had known Dayal for nearly five years and believed he was serious about marriage. However, she later discovered he was involved with other women and allegedly continued the relationship under false pretenses.
Dayal had recently moved the Allahabad High Court seeking protection from arrest and quashing of the FIR in the Ghaziabad case. The court granted a temporary stay on his arrest and directed the state and the complainant to file their responses. The matter is still under judicial consideration.
With two separate and deeply serious cases now filed against him—one involving a minor and another alleging long-term deceit—Dayal finds himself in a deepening legal crisis. While investigations continue on both fronts, the emerging pattern of allegations has raised significant concerns about the conduct of the young cricketer, who was part of RCB’s victorious IPL 2024 campaign.
As of now, Yash Dayal has not issued a public statement on either case. Both matters remain under active police investigation, and further legal developments are expected in the coming weeks.
