Pune Passport Office Holds Tatkaal Special Passport Drive On August 2
Pune, July 29, 2025 — As part of the Ministry of External Affairs’ initiative to make passport appointments available at an earlier date, Tatkaal appointments are being released at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK), Pune, for Saturday, August 2, 2025.
The Tatkaal scheme requires additional documents and has stricter eligibility guidelines. Many applicants fail on either or both criteria and thus cannot submit applications successfully. Applicants are requested to carefully read the Tatkaal Advisory and Tatkaal Undertaking and ensure document sufficiency and eligibility to avoid any potential issues on the appointment day.
To verify an applicant’s genuineness, Section 5 of the Passports Act, 1967, read with Rule 5 of the Passports Rules, 1980, stipulates that the Passport Authority may make all such enquiries and may require an applicant to submit such additional information and documents as may be considered necessary for the proper disposal of the application.
Documents: Applicants are advised to carry the following original documents, which may be required by the Passport Authority and Police:
* QR Code Birth Certificate mentioning Aadhaar number
* Class 10 (Matriculation) Passing Certificate
* Passport
* Latest complete eAadhaar with scannable QR code
* PAN Card with hologram
* Voter ID with hologram
* Driving Licence
* Marriage Certificate/Joint Photo Declaration (Annexure J) signed by both husband & wife along with couple’s passports and/or PAN Cards/Driving Licences (if not holding a passport)
For Minor Applicants:
Duly filled and signed Annexure D (i.e. consent from both parents)
Both Parents’ passports
Smart ID Cards Not Accepted: Aadhaar is not a valid Date of Birth proof. IDs such as Aadhaar, PAN Card, Voter ID, etc., printed on plastic by private entities or stationery shops (“Smart ID Cards”) are not accepted.
DigiLocker & mAadhaar: Before submitting an online application and visiting PSK/POPSK, applicants must download the mAadhaar and DigiLocker mobile apps and fetch documents like Birth Certificate, Aadhaar, and Class 10 Passing Certificate through these apps to verify document authenticity. DigiLocker-issued (not uploaded) documents will be accepted only if shared during online passport application submission. Documents merely uploaded to DigiLocker Drive are not treated as authentic.
QR Code Scanning: Before visiting PSK, applicants must scan the QR codes on supporting documents like the Birth Certificate and eAadhaar using the scanner facility of DigiLocker or mAadhaar apps to ensure the QR codes are scannable and the documents are verifiable.
