Just hours after Thackeray’s statement, MNS workers vandalized the “Night Riders” bar in Panvel late Saturday night. Shouting slogans like “We will not allow dance bars to operate on the sacred land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj,” the workers pelted stones and damaged property at the establishment. The incident created panic in the area.

Confirming the act, MNS Navi Mumbai leader Yogesh Chile posted on Facebook, saying, “We will not allow dance bars in the sacred land of Shivaji Maharaj. Panvel MNS has attacked Night Riders bar.”

During his speech, Raj Thackeray raised concerns about the large number of dance bars allegedly operating illegally in Raigad and pointed out that many of them are run by non-Marathi individuals. “Weren’t these bars supposed to be shut down? Now there are so many illegal bars in Raigad district, and not even by locals,” he said, urging people to avoid being lured into such businesses.

Thackeray also emphasized the cultural and historical importance of Raigad, calling it the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. “This is the land where our king sent off his daughter-in-law with full honor. And now we are running dance bars here?” he questioned with visible displeasure.

He further warned local youth about losing their identity and culture, stating, “Keep an eye on what’s happening in Raigad. You’re being sold out. The ground beneath your feet is slipping. One day you’ll have nothing left but regret. Everyone wants to earn money—but not by selling Maharashtra.”

With this incident, it remains to be seen whether MNS’s anti-bar campaign will escalate further in the coming days.
