Pune, August 3, 2025: In a significant boost to public transportation in the Chakan industrial area, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has officially launched bus services within the MIDC zone. This development comes after consistent efforts and follow-ups by the Federation of Chakan Industries (FCI) over the past few years.

Due to the absence of public transport, thousands of workers faced daily inconvenience commuting to work. Recognizing this pressing issue, the FCI persistently appealed to the District Collector, PMPML authorities, industry-friendly officials, and the Industries Minister to address the demand for bus connectivity in the area.

The long-standing demand has now been fulfilled. The new circular bus service was inaugurated today near NTB International Limited by FCI Director Kamal Kacholia. The event was graced by FCI CEO Mr. Dilip Batwal, Vinod Jain, Govind Pansare, NTB GM Mr. A. Raja, Siddharam Chadchani, PMPML’s Rajesh Jadhav, GM Sampat Shelimkar, and several other dignitaries.

This service is expected to reduce traffic congestion, lower accident risks, and make commuting easier for workers and students alike. The buses will run every 30 minutes and will feature women conductors for the safety and convenience of female passengers.
