Watch: Rohit Sharma Turns Heads Driving His New Lamborghini Urus in Mumbai
Indian cricket fans were in for a treat recently as ODI skipper Rohit Sharma took his brand-new Lamborghini Urus out for a spin on the streets of Mumbai. The flamboyant car not only made waves for its sleek design and roaring engine but also for the man behind the wheel — Rohit himself, who is currently enjoying an extended break from international cricket. After the culmination of IPL 2025 and his emotional farewell from Test cricket earlier this year, the 38-year-old cricketer has been spending quality time with his family and staying away from the spotlight. But a recent video of him casually driving his latest luxury purchase quickly went viral online, causing a stir among fans and auto enthusiasts alike.

The car in question? A Lamborghini Urus reportedly worth over ₹4 crore. The number plate, marked ‘3015’, carries a personal significance. It’s believed to represent the birthdates of his two children — daughter Samaira (born December 30, 2018) and son Ahaan (born November 15, 2024). This is said to be Rohit’s sixth car and his second Lamborghini, underlining his well-known passion for high-end automobiles.
The former Mumbai Indians captain was also recently seen vacationing in London with his family and was spotted at the Kia Oval during the fifth and final Test match between India and England — albeit as a spectator this time.

Rohit’s last competitive outing came during IPL 2025’s Qualifier 2, where the Mumbai Indians bowed out of the tournament following a defeat to the Punjab Kings. He has since remained away from the field but is expected to return for India’s ODI series against Australia, beginning October 19, 2025.
While the three-match series will see Rohit and fellow veteran Virat Kohli back in action, the road ahead for both stalwarts remains uncertain. Having already stepped away from T20Is after India’s triumphant 2024 World Cup campaign and from Test cricket earlier this year, both players are now exclusively playing the 50-over format.
However, with the next ODI World Cup still two years away, conversations have begun around their long-term future in the format. According to a BCCI insider, there’s no immediate decision being made regarding their ODI careers. The board’s current focus lies on upcoming key tournaments like the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup, scheduled for February next year.
“If they have any decision in mind, they will communicate it directly to the BCCI like they did before the England Test series,” said a BCCI official on condition of anonymity. “Right now, the main goal is to prepare the best possible squad for the Asia Cup and ensure all players are fit and available.”
Both Rohit and Kohli were last seen donning the Indian jersey during the recently concluded Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai. Kohli delivered two memorable knocks — a century against Pakistan in the group stage and a match-winning 84 in the semifinal against Australia. Rohit, true to form, led from the front in the final with a gritty 76 off 83 balls, helping India lift the trophy with a four-wicket win.
As per recent reports, the BCCI is keen on having both players participate in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025 to keep them match-ready and in contention for the 2027 World Cup. However, no definitive call has been made yet, and for now, both veterans remain central to India’s ODI plans.
