Mumbai, August 13, 2025: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has recorded its highest revenue of the year during the Raksha Bandhan and Bhai Dooj festival period, thanks to the special facilities provided to passengers.

According to Transport Minister and MSRTC Chairman Pratap Sarnaik, the corporation earned a total of ₹136.36 crore between August 11 and 14, 2025. This marks a record-breaking performance for the current year.

Daily Revenue Breakdown:

Balwadkar
  • August 11 (Day before Raksha Bandhan): ₹30.06 crore
  • August 12 (Raksha Bandhan): ₹37.86 crore – the highest single-day revenue this year
  • August 13: ₹33.36 crore
  • August 14: ₹35.08 crore

In these four days, 62.72 lakh passengers travelled with MSRTC, including nearly 15 lakh passengers on August 12 alone. The increased demand was met by deploying additional buses to ensure brothers and sisters could reach home on time.

Transport Minister Sarnaik expressed satisfaction with the performance, congratulating all MSRTC officers and staff for their hard work and dedication. He also thanked passengers for using the service in large numbers, attributing the record revenue to the combined efforts of employees and public support.
