Bengaluru Auto Driver’s IIM-B Jacket Story Goes Viral on X
A Bengaluru auto rickshaw driver has gone viral on social media, not for his driving skills, but for his unexpected link to the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B).
A woman in Bengaluru shared her experience on X (formerly Twitter) after she noticed her auto driver wearing an IIM-Bangalore jacket. Curious to know the story behind it, she struck up a conversation. That is when she learned that the driver also works part-time at the IIM-B hostel mess. The students there had gifted him the jacket as a token of appreciation for his work and friendly nature.
She posted, “My auto driver was wearing an IIMB jacket. Curious me had a little chat with him… He mentioned he works in the IIMB hostel mess, and the students there gifted it to him. Auto driving is his part-time job :)”.

Her post quickly caught attention and was shared widely. Many people praised both the gesture of the students and the bond they share with the hostel staff. One user commented, “Kindness travels further than we think.” Another added, “IIMB students are, in fact, the sweetest. I learned it last week while watching how they care for everyone around them.”
Another Auto Driver Wins the Internet
This is not the first time a Bengaluru auto driver has become the talk of social media. Recently, another driver made headlines for a very different reason. He was spotted watching a podcast by well-known entrepreneur and investor Naval Ravikant while driving passengers through the city.
X user Priyanshu Tanwar shared a photo from his ride, writing, “It doesn’t get more peak Bengaluru than this.” The image showed the driver watching the podcast on a small screen during a late-evening trip.
