Pune’s Famous Dahi Handi Spots for Janmashtami 2025 Celebrations
Janmashtami, also called Krishna Janmashtami, marks the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna and is celebrated across India with great enthusiasm. In Pune, the festival also features the popular Dahi Handi event, inspired by the tales of young Krishna stealing butter. Formed in 1892, the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust is well-known for both its Ganesh Chaturthi and Dahi Handi celebrations. Every year, the trust hosts a lively event featuring human pyramids attempting to break the handi, recreating the spirit of Krishna’s butter-stealing antics.
