The fire had engulfed the first floor of a ground-plus-one residential structure. Firefighters used hose reels to bring the blaze under control and simultaneously rescued the injured occupants, who were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Fire personnel completely extinguished the blaze and carried out cooling operations. The fire caused extensive damage to the hall, where furniture, a television set, and electrical wiring were destroyed. Doors of the bathroom and toilet, along with a geyser, were also burnt. In the kitchen, a refrigerator and furniture sustained partial damage. Dense smoke blackened the walls throughout the flat.
The building is a ground-plus-one RCC structure. The exact extent of the financial loss could not be immediately assessed.
Preliminary findings indicate that the explosion occurred when a new LPG cylinder was being connected after the previous cylinder was exhausted. Gas leakage from the cylinder reportedly spread inside the house, leading to a powerful blast and the subsequent fire.
