Mahindra & Mahindra has taken a big step toward its future SUV roadmap with the global debut of its NU_IQ platform and four new concept vehicles, revealed on Independence Day as part of the company’s Vision 2027 plan. The automaker confirmed that production models based on this platform will hit the roads in 2027, catering to both Indian and international markets.

NU_IQ Platform: What It Brings

The NU_IQ platform is a flexible, multi-energy architecture capable of supporting various powertrains, from conventional ICE to advanced hybrid and EV setups. A standout feature is its flat-floor design, a first for an ICE SUV, which maximizes cabin space and boot capacity. Customers can also expect both front- and all-wheel-drive configurations, enhancing versatility.

Four Concept SUVs: A Glimpse Into the Future

Mahindra’s latest concepts reflect its new ‘Heartcore’ design philosophy, blending bold styling with practicality. Here’s what was showcased:

  • Vision S: Likely a future Scorpio iteration, it sports a squared-off silhouette, L-shaped LED lights, flush door handles, and roof-mounted lamps for a modern yet rugged identity.
  • Vision X: A sub-four-metre SUV with sharp geometric lines, gloss-black wheel arches, connected LED tail lamps, and a sloping roofline, designed for urban buyers seeking style with practicality.
  • Vision SXT: A pickup-inspired SUV, resembling the Vision T but with a loading bay and dual spare tyres, aimed at adventure seekers and multi-purpose utility.
