Pune: Renowned Iconography Expert Dr G B Deglurkar To Conduct Master Class On Ganesh Idol
Pune, August 19, 2025: As the city prepares for the upcoming Ganesh Festival, Indi Heritage and Belvalkar Sanskrutik Manch have announced a special ‘Master Class’ dedicated to the study and symbolism of Ganesh idols. The session will be conducted by Dr. G. B. Deglurkar, an internationally acclaimed authority on iconography (Murti Shastra) and former Chancellor of Deccan College, Pune.
The lecture will take place on Saturday, August 23, at 10:00 am at the prestigious Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute (BORI) on Law College Road. Dr. Deglurkar is widely respected for his scholarly contributions to the field of iconography, and this event promises to provide participants with deep insights into the spiritual, cultural, and artistic significance of Ganesh idols.
