Double-Decker Flyover at Savitribai Phule Pune University Chowk Opens for Traffic
Pune, August 20, 2025 – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the double-decker integrated flyover constructed between Aundh and Shivajinagar at Savitribai Phule Pune University Chowk by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the project site.
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, MLAs Siddharth Shirole, Bapusaheb Pathare, Hemant Rasne, PMRDA Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase, PMC Commissioner Nawal Kishore Ram, District Collector Jitendra Dudi, and University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Suresh Gosavi were present.

The Savitribai Phule Pune University Chowk Integrated Double-Decker Flyover (Aundh to Shivajinagar project) has been constructed to resolve traffic congestion at University Chowk and Ganeshkhind Road while ensuring long-term traffic management. The project, with an approved budget of ₹277 crore, also includes road widening of Ganeshkhind Road—from Pune University to the College of Agriculture—up to 45 meters as per PMC’s development plan to ease vehicular flow.
One corridor (Aundh–Shivajinagar) has been opened for traffic, while the Shivajinagar and Aundh ramps are complete. Construction of the Baner and Pashan ramps is scheduled for completion by October 2025 through PMRDA
