Man Falls Into Drain After Slab Breaks in Chandrapur, CCTV Video Goes Viral
Chandrapur, Maharashtra – A man carrying two cake boxes fell into a roadside drain on Tuesday after the slab he stepped on suddenly broke. The incident took place outside Seven Star Bakery at Janata College Chowk and was caught on CCTV.
The video shows the man walking toward the shop when the slab collapsed beneath him. Passers-by quickly helped him out of the drain. Luckily, he did not suffer serious injuries.
Later, the broken drain was covered with stones to stop further accidents. Local Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers claimed the drain cover had no proper metal support, blaming civic negligence. The municipal body has started an inquiry.
The video has sparked anger on social media. Many users criticized poor road safety and questioned the government’s accountability. One person wrote, “The government should check all road contracts properly. These accidents keep happening for decades, and there’s no value for human life.” Another asked, “Is anyone responsible?”
The incident has raised fresh concerns about pedestrian safety in the city.
