The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for 17 districts across Maharashtra predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall on Tuesday, August 26.
The weather is set to intensify just ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
Districts Under Alert
- Konkan Region: Mumbai, Mumbai Suburban, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg
- Western Maharashtra: Pune, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, and Kolhapur
- North Maharashtra: Dhule, Jalgaon, and Nandurbar
- Marathwada: Hingoli and Nanded
- Vidarbha: Nagpur, Chandrapur, Bhandara, Gondia, and Gadchiroli

- Mumbai & Suburbs: Generally cloudy skies with moderate rain; maximum temperature around 28°C, minimum around 24°C.
- Pune & Ghats: Heavy rainfall likely in ghat areas and moderate showers in the city.
- North Maharashtra: Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall in Dhule, Jalgaon, and Nandurbar.
- Marathwada & Vidarbha: Several districts to witness lightning and heavy rain, while others may receive light to moderate showers.
