Pune, August 28, 2025: In a grand spiritual gathering, around 35,000 women participated in mass Atharvashirsha chanting and a Maha Aarti at the iconic Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandal on the occasion of Rishipanchami. The event, now in its 40th year, was organised as part of the 133rd Ganeshotsav celebrations by the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust and Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal.
Despite rainy weather, women arrived in traditional attire from as early as 2 a.m., filling the festival mandap and surrounding areas, including Nana Wada. The ceremony began with conch blowing, followed by the resonating chants of “Om Gan Ganapataye Namaha” and devotional songs, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere.

The event saw dignitaries including MP Sunetra Pawar and other trustees in attendance. Pawar extended prayers for health, progress, and prosperity for all devotees.
Adding an international touch, Italian actress Anna Mara attended the ceremony, highlighting the global appeal of Pune’s Ganeshotsav. The celebration concluded with a collective Maha Aarti and chants of “Morya, Morya Dagdusheth Morya,” symbolising the power of devotion and unity.
