In Pune’s Yerawada area, an army personnel was allegedly assaulted by a group of bikers after he asked them to slow down their speeding two-wheelers. The incident took place around 3 AM on Saturday, August 30, 2025.
The group also manhandled police officers who tried to intervene. Yerawada Police have arrested five individuals, including a woman, in connection with the case.
According to police reports, the arrested individuals have been identified as: Dnyaneshwar Sundar Natkale (26), Rahul Sanjay Salve (23), Rohit Ashok Dongre (27), Bhimanagar, Vishrantwadi, Harshal Bhosale (25), Tingrenagar, Vishrantwadi and Siddhi Kamble (24), Sapras, Yerawada.
A 32-year-old army personnel filed a complaint at Yerawada Police Station, leading to charges of obstructing government duty and physical assault.
The army personnel, along with his colleague, was passing through the Yerawada area when the gang sped past on motorcycles. After being advised to slow down, the accused argued with the army personnel, shoved him, and attempted to snatch his silver chain and mobile phone. They also issued death threats.
The scuffle took place close to the Jail Road Police Chowki. Upon receiving information, two police officers rushed to the spot but were also pushed and manhandled by the gang. Following the complaint, all five accused were taken into custody. Assistant Police Inspector Vishal Takle is leading the investigation.
