Pune, September 11, 2025: The Pune Rural Police have arrested two accused, including a minor, for stealing mobile phones of labourers in the Ranjangaon MIDC area. The Detection Branch (DB) of Ranjangaon MIDC Police Station recovered a total of eight stolen mobiles valued at ₹1.05 lakh.

The incident occurred late at night on September 5, when labourers staying at a construction camp were asleep. The thieves stole four phones from the spot. During the subsequent investigation, police traced the suspects — identified as Atharva Rahul Kale, a resident of Shirur taluka, and a minor. On interrogation, four additional stolen phones were recovered, linking the accused to other burglary cases as well.

A police official confirmed that the swift operation not only helped recover the stolen property but also led to the detection of two burglary cases. Assistant PSI Dattatraya Shinde is conducting further investigations.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill, Additional SP Ramesh Chopade, and SDPO Prashant Dhole. The team was led by Police Inspector Mahadev Waghmode, with PSI Avinash Thorat, Assistant PSI Dattatraya Shinde, and constables Rajesh Dhage, Nitin Bhos, Ganesh Wagh, Umesh Kutwal, Yogesh Gund, Kishore Shivankar, Sandeep Bhaand, and Abhiman Kolekar actively participating.
