Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Latest Update: The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is fast-tracking work on India’s first bullet train project along the 508-km Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor. The Ministry of Railways has announced that the first operational stretch, between Surat and Bilimora in Gujarat, will be launched in 2027.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, addressing the media, confirmed that construction is progressing rapidly and the Surat–Bilimora section will be the first to open. The project will gradually expand, with services expected to reach Thane by 2028 and Mumbai by 2029.
Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Ticket Price
The fare structure of the Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train will remain affordable and accessible for middle-class passengers. “The ticket pricing will be kept reasonable, ensuring that it stays within the reach of the middle class,” the minister assured.
Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Stations
The bullet train corridor will feature 12 stations: Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, and Sabarmati.

Project Timeline and Completion
The Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project is being developed with technical and financial support from the Government of Japan. The Gujarat stretch, from Vapi to Sabarmati, is scheduled for completion by December 2027. The entire corridor, from Mumbai to Sabarmati, is expected to be fully operational by December 2029.
