Pune: Viman Nagar’s Lunkad Gold Coast Society Powers Ahead With 70KW Solar Energy Under PM Surya Ghar Yojana
Pune, October 2, 2025: In a major step towards community-driven sustainability, Lunkad Gold Coast Society in Viman Nagar has successfully transitioned to renewable energy by installing a 70KW solar power system under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
The project was inaugurated today by Surendra Bapusaheb Pathare, a respected leader known for his community initiatives and green vision for Pune, in the presence of enthusiastic society members.
The newly installed solar system will generate sufficient electricity to meet the society’s needs while contributing significantly to environmental conservation. By reducing carbon emissions by nearly 2,700 kg per month, the initiative’s impact is equivalent to planting 80 trees every month. This adoption of clean energy will also help divert conventional electricity supply to critical sectors such as hospitals, industries, and schools, thereby boosting overall economic growth.
Applauding the residents, Pathare said, “This is a commendable step by Lunkad Gold Coast Society. By adopting solar power, you are not only reducing your bills but also setting a benchmark for the city.
