Pune, October 3, 2025: In a shocking incident on Dussehra, a man was murdered by his own son in Pune’s Kothrud area following a trivial quarrel.
The victim has been identified as Tanaji Paigude, while the accused, his 33-year-old son Sachin Tanaji Paigude, has been arrested by Kothrud police. Tanaji’s wife, Suman Paigude, lodged a formal complaint.
According to police, the family lived in Jai Bhavani Nagar, Chawl No. 2. On Tuesday afternoon, around 12 pm, Sachin was watching television on the upper floor when his father asked him to switch it off and put medicinal drops in his eyes. This led to a heated argument between the two.
In a fit of rage, Sachin allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and attacked his father, stabbing him on the face and neck. Tanaji sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot.
Police rushed to the scene after receiving information and immediately took Sachin into custody. A case of murder has been registered against him.
The incident has left the local community in shock, as neighbors described the dispute as stemming from a minor issue that escalated fatally within minutes.
