Pune: Mock Drill On F C Road Sparks Panic Among Citizens, Police Clarify It Was A Planned Exercise
Pune, October 3, 2025: The F.C. Road area was suddenly sealed, which led to widespread rumors of a bomb blast, creating fear among local residents.
However, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) Dr. Sandeep Bhajibhakare clarified that there was no real blast and that it was a planned police mock drill. He appealed to citizens not to panic and not to believe in rumors.
The mock drill was organized as part of emergency preparedness, simulating a bomb blast scenario. Videos of the dummy explosion went viral on social media. The purpose of the exercise was to provide hands-on experience in responding to a critical situation.
During the drill, a simulated blast scene was created, following which the police, disaster management teams, bomb disposal squad, fire brigade, and medical teams rushed to the spot and demonstrated rescue operations. The area was immediately sealed, and traffic was managed effectively.
Authorities emphasized that in the event of a real emergency, it is vital for citizens to remain calm, follow police instructions, and avoid spreading or believing in rumors. The primary goal of the drill was to test police preparedness and to spread awareness among the public.
