Pune, October 8, 2025: The Traffic-Free Chakan Action Committee has announced a protest march regarding traffic congestion in Chakan on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 9:00 AM. The march will proceed on foot from Bhakti Shakti to the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) office in Akurdi.

To ensure smooth traffic flow during the protest, authorities have directed that all vehicles on the march route be diverted via alternative roads. 

According to the notification issued under the Motor Vehicles Act, Sections 115, 116(1)(a)(b), 116(4), and 117, by Vivek Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Branch, Pimpri-Chinchwad City, temporary traffic restrictions have been imposed.

Traffic Restrictions Include:

Nigdi Traffic Department Route: All vehicles are prohibited from using the service roads from Kachghar Chowk → Bhel Chowk → Sambhaji Chowk (Prakash Baburao Patil Chowk) → Up to Bijlinagar Bridge.

Alternative Route: Vehicles can use the main roads to reach their destinations.

Prakash Baburao Patil Chowk to PMRDA Office Road: All traffic is blocked from this route to the PMRDA office.

Alternative Route: Vehicles can proceed via LIC Corner to reach their destinations.

The restrictions will be in place from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on October 9, 2025, with only emergency and essential service vehicles allowed. Citizens are advised to follow the designated alternative routes during this period.
