Pune: Woman Loses Life in Tragic Accident on Hinjewadi–Maan Road, Citizens Demand Safety Measures
Pune, October 10, 2025: A woman lost her life in a tragic accident involving a cement mixer truck on the Hinjewadi–Maan Road near Pandav Nagar Chowk around 11 am on Thursday. The incident occurred close to the Street of Europe stretch, a section already notorious for poor road conditions and recurring accidents.
According to eyewitnesses, the woman tried to swerve her vehicle to avoid a pothole or uneven patch, but lost control and came under the cement mixer. She died on the spot. The body was recovered with the help of a crane and sent for post-mortem examination.
Residents and commuters expressed deep anger, blaming the deteriorating road conditions and lack of safety enforcement for the fatality. Locals stated that this is not the first such accident on Maan Road and urged authorities to act before more lives are lost.
Community members have called for the use of advanced technology to monitor heavy vehicles. They suggested installing mandatory sensors, cameras, and anti-collision systems on construction trucks and mixers to prevent such tragedies. Citizens also demanded immediate road repairs and stricter monitoring to ensure commuter safety on one of Pune’s busiest industrial corridors.
