Pune: Over 45,000 Join Pimpri Chinchwad Police’s Virtual Town Hall On Cybersecurity Awareness
Pimpri Chinchwad, October 14, 2025: As part of the state-wide Cybersecurity Awareness Month announced by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey hosted a Virtual Town Hall on platform “X” to educate citizens and students about cybercrime prevention and digital safety.
The interactive session, held between 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., aimed to build awareness about safe online practices and highlight the increasing threats of cyber fraud. Commissioner Choubey directly engaged with citizens, students, and industrial groups across the city, addressing their queries and sharing key insights on cybersecurity.
More than 12,000 students and citizens from 81 schools, colleges, and industrial units participated in the event, while an additional 33,844 people attended online, bringing total participation to over 45,000 individuals.

During the session, Commissioner Choubey encouraged citizens to use the official handles @PCcityPolice and @CP_PccityPolice on platform X to freely share their questions, complaints, and suggestions related to cybercrimes. He also responded to several citizen queries on cyber fraud, online safety, and preventive measures, offering detailed explanations and advice.
The event was held under the guidance of Additional Commissioner Dr. Shashikant Mahavarkar and Deputy Commissioner Sarang Awad, with active coordination by Assistant Commissioner Vishal Hire. The initiative received a strong response from the community and is expected to play a significant role in reducing cybercrimes through increased awareness and vigilance.
