World’s First Ramayana Wax Museum to Open in Ayodhya During Diwali Festivities
The two-storey museum features 50 lifelike wax statues and recreates scenes from the Ramayana to offer visitors an immersive mythological experience.
After the completion of the Ram Temple, Ayodhya is set to witness another milestone that blends spirituality, culture, and tourism. The world’s first Ramayana-themed wax museum is ready to open its doors during the Deepotsav celebrations, with the inauguration scheduled to be done by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Spread across 9,850 sq. ft. and built at a cost of ₹6 crore, the museum has been designed in traditional South Indian architectural style. It showcases 50 realistic wax figures of characters from the Ramayana including Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, Lakshman, Hanuman, Bharat, Vibhishan, and Ravana. Each sculpture is detailed with natural expressions, costumes, lighting, and ambience to transport visitors into the Treta Yuga.
The entrance welcomes visitors with a grand idol of Lord Ganesha, symbolising auspicious beginnings. Inside, the museum offers an immersive atmosphere with sandalwood fragrance, soft Ram bhajans, and the continuous chant of the Ram Tarak Mantra.
Museum Layout and Experience
Ground Floor: Scenes from Lord Ram’s childhood, Sita’s swayamvar, and young Ram Lalla are showcased. A dedicated selfie point beside child Ram adds a modern touch for visitors.
First Floor: The museum depicts the exile years, Sita’s abduction, Lanka Dahan, and the war between Ram and Ravana. 3D lighting effects recreate dramatic moments such as Hanuman setting Lanka ablaze, complete with simulated flames.
Facilities for Visitors
Outside the museum, amenities such as a parking area, food court serving both North and South Indian delicacies, snack counters, a studio-style coffee house, and a family entertainment zone have been arranged for tourists.
Safety features include fire systems, 24×7 CCTV surveillance, four emergency exits, and air-conditioned interiors maintained at 22°C.
