Pune, October 21, 2025: While Diwali celebrations were in full swing across the city, a high-end bar in Koregaon Park was secretly hosting an illegal gambling event. Acting on a tip-off, the Pune Police raided the venue, uncovering a large-scale poker game involving hefty cash stakes under the pretext of a “Diwali Poker Night.”
According to reports, participants — mainly from affluent circles — were betting large sums of money through both cash and online transfers. The police initiated the raid after videos of the event went viral on social media. Some attendees reportedly attempted to flee the spot as officers entered the premises.
Authorities have begun a detailed investigation into the bar’s licenses, the event organizers, and those involved in the gambling activity.
