Good News: Pune–Nanded Vande Bharat Express to be launched by December 2025
Travel time to reduce to 7 hours; train to halt at Pune, Dharashiv, Latur and Nanded
The Vande Bharat Express is set to start on the Pune–Nanded route by the end of 2025, cutting the current travel time to just 7 hours across the 550 km distance. This semi-high-speed train will run via Dharashiv (Osmanabad) and Latur, significantly improving connectivity between Marathwada and western Maharashtra.
Nanded MP Ravindra Chavan pursued the proposal with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, following which the Railway Ministry took positive steps towards its implementation. The official timetable and inauguration date are expected to be announced after Diwali.

Ticket prices are expected to range between ₹1500–₹1900 for AC Chair Car and ₹2000–₹2500 for Executive Class.
Once operational, the service will not only ensure faster and more comfortable travel but also strengthen economic, social and developmental ties between Marathwada and western Maharashtra. It is expected to benefit sectors such as agriculture, industry, education and tourism.
