Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 recently found itself in the spotlight for an unexpected reason — the behavior of 10-year-old Ishit Bhatt from Gujarat. The fifth-grade student went viral after viewers criticized him for coming across as rude towards the legendary host, Amitabh Bachchan. Following the wave of online reactions, Ishit has now issued a heartfelt apology addressing his conduct.

In a public note, Ishit expressed regret for how his actions were perceived. “I got nervous, and my attitude came out completely wrong,” he admitted. “It wasn’t my intention to be rude. I have the utmost respect for Amitabh Bachchan sir and the entire KBC team.” The young contestant described the experience as a major learning moment, emphasizing how words and behavior reflect a person’s character, especially on a platform as prominent as KBC.

The episode sparked significant discussion on social media, with viewers noting that Ishit interrupted Big B multiple times and voiced frustration about the rules being explained. Some labeled him “arrogant” or “rude,” while others defended the child, pointing out the immense pressure of performing on national television at such a young age.

In his apology, Ishit took full responsibility for his actions and pledged to improve his behavior in the future. “I promise to be more humble, respectful, and thoughtful going forward,” he wrote, signing off as “The KBC Boy.” He also expressed regret for disappointing viewers who expected better conduct and acknowledged how nervousness had affected his demeanor.

The young contestant’s honesty received appreciation from many online users. One commented, “He is a kid, he made a mistake, realised it and apologised. Please don’t be the cause of someone’s childhood trauma.” Another added, “Apni gaiti zwikarna bhi bahut bada kaam hai. Very good.” However, some netizens continued to post humorous or sarcastic remarks, recalling his now-famous line, “Arehh, sir lock karoo naa,” from the show.

Several public figures have come forward to support Ishit, including singer Chinmayi Sripaada, cricketer Varun Chakravarthy, and model Rajiv Adatia. They urged viewers to show empathy, highlighting that children are still learning to navigate emotions and social pressure. Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 airs every Monday to Friday at 9 PM on Sony Entertainment Television and is also available for streaming on SonyLIV.
