Ashtavinayak made from origami is the special attraction of this year’s exhibition

Pune, October 27, 2025: Indutai Tilak Kala Kendra and Origami Mitra have jointly organized the ‘Wonderfold 2025’ origami art exhibition from October 30 to November 2. This year is the 18th year of this exhibition and the exhibition will be open from 10 am to 8 pm on all days at the Tilak Smarak Mandir on Tilak Road.

On Thursday, October 30, at 10.30 am, the ‘Wonderfold 2025’ origami art exhibition will be formally inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Geetali Tilak, Vice Chancellor of Tilak Maharashtra University, Rajni Deval and friends of Origami Mitra will also be present during the exhibition.

Giving more information about the origami art exhibition ‘Wonderfold 2025’, Milind Kelkar of Origami Mitra said, “Today, the world knows origami as a part of Japanese traditional art. With the aim of making this art form known to Indians, Indutai Tilak, Vishwas Deval and Anil Avachat started Origami Mitra, a group of people who are fond of this Japanese art, in Pune in the 90s. For the last 35 years, this exhibition is being organized in Pune on behalf of Origami Mitra in this manner once every two years.”

This year, after the death of Lokmanya Tilak’s great-grandson and former Vice Chancellor of Tilak Maharashtra University, this year’s exhibition will be dedicated to him, while the Ashtavinayak Ganapati made of paper will be the special attraction of this year’s exhibition. Moreover, interested visitors will also be able to get information based on the concept of ‘in which fields origami is used’, Kelkar also said.

Along with this, Milind Kelkar said that the exhibition will also provide an opportunity to see and understand various types of birds, animals, flowers, various types of containers, action models, and the various techniques used in origami, all made from a square sheet of paper.
