‘Jamtara 2’ Actor and IT Engineer Sachin Chandwade Dies by Suicide at 25 in Maharashtra
The entertainment industry is mourning the untimely loss of young actor and IT professional Sachin Chandwade, best known for his role in Netflix’s Jamtara 2. The 25-year-old was found hanging at his residence in Undirkheda village, located in the Parola area of Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district, on the evening of October 23, police officials confirmed.
According to reports, his family members discovered him and immediately rushed him to a private hospital in Dhule, a nearby district. Despite receiving treatment, his condition deteriorated, and he tragically passed away in the early hours of October 24, around 1:30 a.m.
Authorities have registered an accidental death case, initially handled by the Parola police, before being transferred to the Dhule police for further investigation. The reason behind his alleged suicide remains unknown, and an inquiry is currently underway.
Just a few days before his death, Sachin had taken to social media to share a poster of his upcoming Marathi film “Asurvan”, directed by Sachin Ramchandra Ambat.
The movie, featuring Pooja Moily and Anuj Thakare in prominent roles, was described as a gripping thriller and was expected to release later this year. The film was anticipated to be a major milestone in Chandwade’s growing acting career.
Apart from his work in films and web series, Sachin was also a software engineer employed at an IT company in Pune. Balancing his professional commitments in both the tech and entertainment industries, he had been working on multiple acting projects and was seen as a promising talent on the rise.
Chandwade gained recognition for his performance in Netflix’s crime drama series “Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega” (Season 2), which explored the dark underbelly of phishing scams in small-town India.
Although he played a supporting character, his natural screen presence and authentic portrayal resonated strongly with audiences and critics alike.
His last Instagram post, shared five days before his death, now serves as a heartbreaking reminder of his passion and dedication to his craft. The post featured the poster of Asurvan, where he expressed excitement about the upcoming release — a project that will now stand as his final cinematic contribution. The news of Sachin’s passing has sent shockwaves across the Marathi film community and among his fans. Colleagues and admirers have taken to social media to express their grief and pay tribute to the young actor, remembering him as talented, humble, and full of potential.
