Pune: Over 4 Lakh Property Owners Opt For Online Tax Payment In Pimpri Chinchwad
Pune: PCMC Collects ₹702.73 Crore In Property Tax In FY 2025–26
Pimpri, November 7, 2025: Digital payments have clearly become the preferred mode for property tax payment in Pimpri Chinchwad, marking a major behavioural shift among citizens.
Of the 4.77 lakh property owners who have paid their taxes so far this financial year, an impressive 3.93 lakh taxpayers—more than 82%—chose to pay through PCMC’s online system.
From April 1 to November 6, 2025, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has collected Rs 631.66 crore in property tax, of which Rs 515 crore came through online transactions alone.
The civic body attributes this success to its simplified digital interface, continuous awareness campaigns, and trust built through transparent systems.
Over the past few years, PCMC has upgraded its digital infrastructure under its “Pay Tax Online” initiative, combining technology with citizen outreach. Awareness efforts through SMS updates, social media posts, and public announcements encouraged property owners to switch to online payments instead of visiting ward offices.
The online portal offers easy access to property details, pending dues, receipts, and rebate information, enabling citizens to complete the entire process securely from home.
Breakdown of Property Tax Collection (April 1 – November 6, 2025):
Online: Rs 515 crore
Cash: Rs 43.20 crore
Cheque: Rs 38.66 crore
Demand Draft: Rs 1.89 crore
EDC: Rs 6 lakh
“Citizens of Pimpri Chinchwad are making excellent use of digital tools. The online payment system has improved transparency and speed in tax collection. We are continuously working to make this platform even more convenient by adding new features,” said Pankaj Patil, Deputy Commissioner, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
